Be The Difference was written by Jayneen Sanders for kids aged 5 to 12. Writing this book for Educate2Empower, the author is a mother and a school teacher. She is an advocate that we can all make a difference in the world including our children.
What This Book Is About
Just because they’re kids doesn’t mean that they can’t do important things! That’s the main message that this book wants to convey.
This book shares over 40 ideas on how kids can affect positive change. It puts an emphasis on the values that they can embody within the book’s three sections:

- Ideas to promote racial and gender equality
- Ideas to help care for our planet
Reflection and Comments
Be The Difference especially puts an emphasis on the fact that we also benefit as much as we give when we do good things. The author also understands the importance of having kids work on things that they enjoy, that’s why there’s a healthy mix of activities of over 40 activities and ideas that caters to different interests.
Although the book is easy enough to read for young kids because of the age-appropriate language used, it’s also recommended for parents or carers to read this book with their kids. There are guide questions that adults can use to keep the conversation ongoing and positive.
