What This Book Is About
The book tells the story of Miles, who has just turned 6. His birthday was supposed to be fun, but things quickly turned sour when he feels overwhelmed with the way people are touching him. He was being pinched, tickled and hugged too tight. Although everyone meant well, he just didn’t feel comfortable anymore. That’s why he decided to tell everyone to cut it out.
The book shares a number of important lessons, like:
- Every child is the boss of their own body and they get to say no when they’re feeling uncomfortable.
- Saying no to family and friends doesn’t mean he doesn’t love them; he just wants people to respect his boundaries.
- It’s normal to feel confused and overwhelmed when your boundaries are being crossed; it’s all about talking to trusted adults who can understand and respect your space.
