Short Summary

My Body’s Mine is a book about child protection written by Kayla Marnach and illustrated by Kate Collazo for kids aged 3 to 8. It’s the first book in the series called Can-Do Kids.

What This Book Is About

When it comes to child protection, it’s critical that kids are taught early on about boundaries. This book helps kids to know what they are.

Because the book is written in rhyme and told from the perspective of a child, it’s easy for readers to become engaged as they learn about:

  • How they should say no when someone or something makes them feel uncomfortable
  • What they should do if somebody approaches them in a way that they think is not proper
  • How to set the right boundaries

Reflection and Comments

The book comes with a series of questions at the end that they can use to have meaningful discussions with their kids about boundaries and abuse.
