What This Book Is About

Living in the digital age means spending time on screens but the amount of screen time people have has become a major issue among families worldwide. People are staring at their screens too much while spending less quality time with their family members.

The book is a story about  a possum called Pebbles the who realises that visiting beautiful places in real life is much better than seeing them on a gadget’s screen. But when he tries to get the rest of his family to join him, they are all too busy to look up from their screens!

This book is a relevant read for today’s families based on these important statistics:

  • 34% of preschool kids’ parents fear that their kids might get addicted to going online
  • 52% of parents believe that their kids are already spending too much time online
  • 52% of parents admit that they themselves spend too much time on their gadgets
  • 39% of kids agree that their parents are always staring at their own screens

Reflection and Comments

This story shares the importance of being mindful of each family member’s screen time and that prioritising quality time away from those screens is more important.
