Book Review
Short Summary
What This Book Is About
The book talks about what empathy is and why it’s important. It shares the story of Quinn, a kid who shows compassion, kindness and understanding to the people around her.
The story shares a number of important lessons that can help kids understand why it’s important to be empathetic and kind. It teaches readers that we may have differences, but we should remain understanding because we’re also alike in so many ways as humans. From this thought, the book shows scenarios where one can practice empathy.
To make it easier to understand empathy and find ways to practice it, there are questions in each part of the story for readers to think about:
- How are you the same as your friend and siblings? How are you different?
- Who shows you kindness? How do you show kindness to others?
- Do you have a good friend? How does this friend make you feel.
- Have you ever been bullied? What did you do? How did it make you feel?
It also covers different emotions and asks kids to think about what makes them have these feelings and how they can see feelings with other people too. This allows them to think about their own actions too, and how it could affect others.
Reflection and Comments
