Business Is Definitely Not as Usual… at Amazing Me

Business is definitely NOT as usual, as my programs in schools have been postponed and many schools are preparing for the possibility of closing.

I am hopeful that with our incredible experts that this will not last long. In the meantime, as a global community we are all in this together. It is important to remain as positive, calm and reassuring to our children as possible. Within this crisis there exists for some incredible opportunities to strengthen relationships and talk about tough topics like sex and puberty. It is often when you spend time together as a family whether that be watching TV, or playing a game, that questions and discussions arise. You can certainly be proactive and try and start them?

Look on my blog page at www.amazingme.com.au/blog to give some tips about how conversations can happen in everyday ways. There are also online resources for educators and parents like ‘twinkl’ that are offering one month unlimited online resources. These include lessons about sex, puberty, body safety and cyber-safety. Just go to www.twinkl.co.uk/offer and enter the code PARENTSTWINKLHELPS

If you need any help or support or have any questions about sex or puberty information for your tweens during this time please contact me and I will help you. Just email ro****@am*******.au

As I always say to the thousands of parents that I meet each year… you are the parent and have far more influence on your child’s education than anyone else and this includes sex education. Over the coming days if you are at home you have the time to talk. Talk about the things that make them anxious. Check in with what they know and understand about the things they are hearing on the news and TV. Above all, remember to tell them that they are loved and that you are proud of them and that there is nothing so awful that it can’t be talked through with someone… especially with you. Schools maybe closed but reading, talking, laughing, playing and talking together are not.

So while my business is not open as usual, honest, positive and respectful conversations are definitely more than ever “open”.
